The High School Computer Competition (HSCC) program is a subprogram under the S.I.T.E.S program. It was founded in 1986 by Dr. Jesse Bemley, of Washington, D.C. It is designed to introduce our students to the field of Information Technology, encourage them to seek higher levels of education, and groom many of them to become our next generation of IT professionals. As a part of the Atlanta HSCC program, high school students gather each Saturday from January to August to develop expertise in creating web applications. The program curriculum focuses on the following web languages:  HTML, CSS, SQL/MySQL, Database, PHP. Participating students will also learn public speaking skills, how to create and develop presentations, time management skills, how to set and achieve goals and working in a team environment. Students will have the opportunity to win up to $2,500 in potential scholarships at the competition. Students who will be entering the 9th through 12th grade during August/September or graduating from high school the year of the competition are eligible to participate.
